Gain-in-weight feeder
Gain-in-weight feeder is typically used for controlled batch feeding and weighing of dry bulk materials. Gain-in-Weight feeding process is used in order to feed bulk solids into a batch process.

Gain-in-weight feeder applications:
Gain-in-Weight feeding process is used in order to feed bulk solids into a batch process. Gain-in-Weight feeding often uses volumetric feeders (such as screw feeders or valves) that deliver the material to a hopper on load cells. Gain-in-Weight feeding is typically used for controlled batch feeding and weighing of dry bulk materials.

The gain-in-weight feeder Process:
1). Individual volumetric feeders, each containing a single raw material, feed their material in sequence into a collection hopper that is mounted on a scale or load cells.
2). The receiving hopper is continuously weighed as each ingredient is fed in succession. The weight measurements are compared to the setpoint for each material.
3). When the required weight of a material reaches near its setpoint, the volumetric feeder goes into dribble mode so that the feeder does not over feed. When the setpoint is reached, material from that feeder stops feeding, and the next feeder is started.
4). When all the materials are fed into the central hopper, they are discharged into a mixer or blender.

Gain-in-Weight Controller for Gain-in-weight feeder:
The Gain-in-Weight controller is used to monitor the weight of each material and directs each volumetric feeder to start, stop, or increase/decrease speed. When all the ingredients have been batched, the mixture of materials is discharged into the process below.
